Multi – Sport

Multi betting allows you to include a variety of sports and Fixed Odds options in one bet. The return is calculated by multiplying the price of each individual selection, referred to as a leg, together to obtain the Multi odds for that combination.

Sport based Multi bets placed via Internet, Mobile or Self Service Terminals in retail outlets can contain anywhere between 2 and 12 legs. The only exception is when a racing based leg is included, in which case the maximum number of legs is 10.

For Multi bets placed via the Call Centre or bet slip in retail outlets, the maximum number of legs in a sport based Multi is 10 or 6 if the bet contains a racing based leg.

Multi selections must be independent of one another for the bet to be placed.

The probability of two or more outcomes occurring cannot be accurately calculated by straight multiplication if the outcomes are linked.

If two or more outcomes within the bet are non-independent, the Multi would unfairly achieve an additional return for little or no added risk.

As a general rule, including two or more Multi legs from the same event is rarely possible.

On occasion, certain Fixed Odds sport markets may be restricted to ‘Singles Only’. This means that options from within the market cannot be included in a Multi bet and only a straight out investment will be accepted. The term ‘Singles Only’ will be referenced within the Bet Type Definition for affected markets.

If any leg(s) of a Multi is abandoned or is due a refund, that selection effectively drops out of the Multi bet and the return will be recalculated based upon the prices of the remaining live legs as at the time the bet was placed.

If all legs of a Multi bet are abandoned or are due a refund, the entire bet will be refunded.

Formula betting is an extension of Multi and allows you invest upon the various combinations contained within your Multi selections.

For example if you selected a four leg Multi, contained within the selections are the following combinations:

  • 4 x Singles
  • 6 x 2 Leg Multi (referred to as Doubles)
  • 4 x 3 Leg Multi (referred to as Trebles)
  • 1 x 4 Leg Multi

By using Multi Formula you can opt to invest upon all, or a selection of, the available combinations and also choose a differing spend amount for each Formula option.

Formula betting is available on any Multi bet that contains between 2 and 6 legs. If your wager contains 7 or more legs, only standard Multi functionality is available.

If any combination selected as part of a Multi Formula bet fails upon placement, for whatever reason, the entire bet will error and have to be corrected and re-submitted.

Once a Multi Formula bet has been successfully placed, you will receive one receipt encapsulating all selected combinations.

Any dividends will not be payable until the last leg of the bet is resulted.
