Same Race Multi is a Fixed Odds bet type that allows multiple runners to be selected to win and/or to finish in the top 2, 3 or 4 from within the same race.
It is available on the vast majority of ‘final field’ Australian and New Zealand Thoroughbred and Greyhound races (where traditional Fixed Odds betting is offered) plus selected International events. Races must also contain 6 or more runners for Same Race Multi to be made available.
For Thoroughbred races, Same Race Multi is made available from approximately 9.30am on race-day (local time of meeting) while for Greyhounds, from approximately 1 hour prior to advertised start time (AST) for each race.
Wagers must contain a minimum of 2 legs, with a maximum of 4, however, the same runner cannot be selected in more than one finishing position (i.e. Winx to win and Winx to finish in the top 4 would not be permitted).
If a runner included in a Same Race Multi bet is scratched, the bet will be refunded. In the event scratched runners not included in the wager reduce the field to 5 runners (after the bet has been placed), the Same Race Multi will stand.
Where a field is reduced to 4 or less runners however, all Same Race Multi bets placed on the race will be declared void and refunded.
Deductions may apply to successful Same Race Multi wagers in the event of a scratching(s) after a bet has been placed.
Dead heat rules apply in the event of runners tying for a placing. Essentially the face value of the Same Race Multi bet shall be divided by the number of runners involved in the dead heat.
As selections contained within a Same Race Multi are not independent of one another, the odds are generated by an algorithm and are not a straight calculation of the individual leg prices.
The maximum return, per $1 invested, is $10,001 and bets can be placed for as little as $1.00.
Same Race Multi wagers must be placed as individual transactions and can therefore not be included as a leg of a traditional Multi bet.
Eligible TABtouch account holders transacting via the iPhone app, Android app or the tabtouch.mobi platform can access Same Race Multi.
