Top Half vs Bottom Half

A market is offered on whether the winner of the Thoroughbred or Harness race will come from the top half of the field or the bottom half of the field according to race-book order. If the field cannot be split evenly, the “Top Half” will be allocated the extra runner.

If a runner is at any stage odds on (i.e. the runner’s Fixed Odds Win price is less than $2.00), the market will be suspended.

In the event a runner from the top half and a runner from the bottom half dead heat for first place, the dead-heat rule applies.
